As a Realtor in Oklahoma City, I see people buying and selling homes for many different reasons. I wished it was always because things were going good for them. It seems that things are once again moving. Prior to the election, I could see a little bit of fear in the faces of prospects that were still coming to open houses. I think a lot of folks were worried about interest rates, the stock market, gas prices, and maybe even our national security.
I can't say that these concerns were not having an affect on myself and some of my friends, but now that the election has passed, life appears to have gone back to some sort of normality.
I remember finding an old newspaper one time in an old demolished house. I think the paper was dated something like 1938. As my friend and I read it, were astonished at how much it resembled the current paper. Sure the warr was in different country, and the economy was on another scale, but it was pretty much about the same subject matter that we are all concerned with today.
I wished that at least one of the local networks would just air positive news for those of us who wish to remain positive. Wouldn't that be great if we watch the news and hear things that people did that were good. The only problem would be that advertisers might not be available to support the programing due to the majority of the public watching the news that feeds fear into their lives. We may need to know what is going wrong and hurting people, but we also need to know about the good things in life. We can't undo the bad, but we can believe for the good.
